Given that it\u2019s not uncommon for high end 32\u201d 4K monitors to cost upwards of $1,500, the Philips BDM4065UC is an absolute bargain at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Philips-BDM4065UC-Resolution-Speakers-DisplayPort\/dp\/B00SCX78JS\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1449159686&amp;sr=8-1&amp;keywords=philips+bdm4065uc\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$699 on Amazon<\/a> for a 4K 40\u201d monitor.<\/p>\n<p>Until this monitor the only way to get a computer monitor this size was to use a 4K TV as a monitor. While cheap, this is not an effective option because they don\u2019t have the contrast ratio and response time appropriate for computer monitors. Worse they don\u2019t support 3840&#215;2160 at 60Hz making your computer use feel sluggish.<\/p>\n<p>The Philips BDM4065UC has a 50,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 3ms response time and supports 3840&#215;2160 at 60Hz. Note that to get 3840&#215;2160 at 60Hz your graphics card must have a DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort 1.2 output. The monitor does not have HDMI 2.0 so Display Port 1.2 is the only way to go for 4K at 60Hz. Also note that by default the monitor is set for DisplayPort 1.1. You have to manually go in monitor settings and switch it to 1.2. Once it\u2019s done, it works gloriously!<\/p>\n<p>Working and gaming are amazing on it.
